I have been married to Tom Ballard 35 years in May. We have
been through many "life-altering" experiences together,
but one of the biggest was when Tom was "downsized"
after 22 years with P.G.& E. We had been planning a move
to Colorado after we retired, but our plans really got pushed
ahead when he lost his job.
We bought a ranch about 20 miles outside of Colorado Springs,
in Black Forest, CO about 10 years ago. I sell real estate
and specialize in Farm & Ranch propertyno surprise
there! Tom is a superintendent for a large home builder. Right
now we have 6 horses of our own and board 2 others. I still
show horses and compete in local gymkhana's. It makes me feel
like I am 15 years old again :)
One of the things we enjoy most with our horses is camping.
We take them into the mountains and have been to several states
on trail rides with friend's and our riding club. We just
bought a people/horse trailer, so now we drag our "home"
with us. We love the outdoors and spend our time riding, fishing,
and hunting.
Our 4 children also live in Colorado. Our oldest son lives
and works in Colorado Springs. Our second oldest son is getting
married in October and lives in Ft. Collins, CO, about 2-1/2
hours north of us. Our daughter is going to graduate from
the Air Force Academy in May and will be moving to Ohio for
her first assignment, plus I still have a freshman in high
school! I think I am the oldest mother in his class. If you
are ever out our way, come on by. |
